Why are so many people afraid of Socialism?

I am afraid of just about anything that requires large groups of people to succumb to a system of thought or belief. I have not been a fan of organized religion cause it seems to create too may ignorant people. I know there are some brilliant people that believe. But many really don't really explore it. They keep at the surface.
Safe from the curious and anxious child in all of us.
Thomas Aquinas was brilliant. He believed.
But he also was reflective and questioned the faith.
Martin Luther held the Church responsible for its hypocrisy.

Millions rallied in support of socialism. Why?
Cause it made a great deal of sense.
We share the air we breathe. All of us our breathing the same air that birds fly in and animals suck in through their nostrils. Water is recycled through all of nature before it comes back into our glass. Again and again.
The land cannot be purchased or owned.
We can pretend to own it. But in reality we are just living a lie. We
share. Balance of diversity is a sign of optimal health.

We must learn to cooperate and move beyond our fragile egos into a place where we can see the fabric that connects us.
Market capitalism will never be a solution because it ignores nature, for the most part.
It doesn't ignore it as a product. A resource.
But does it respect it? Revere it the way indigenous people did?
Does a forest represent an opportunity for profit or a home for millions of animals and interlocking organisms.
The lung center of our oxygen support system.

We have used our “isms” and ideologies to keep us blind and obedient.

We must use these tools of social structure as a way to manage our affairs but we cannot let them steer us into some abstract land where consequences weigh less than a porpoise hair. I have never seen a porpoise hair. They many not even exist. But if it did, I bet it would be oh so light.

The consequences to our beliefs and modern (Technological) human created systems of living have revealed some pretty ugly consequences. But for the most part we go about our way of life and hope that something can be done later.
I do it. We all do it.
Compliant we all are in this head down don't talk about it out loud mentality.

Communism was full of good ideas. Community taken to the larger level.
But if you centralize the decision making it will always exclude the whole. It will cause us to care less about the large and only begin to focus on daily life.
The immediate. The in your face stuff.

And that's why we should ban centralized governments and dismantle them from the top down. Decisions should be made by local citizens. Not guys in offices a thousand miles  away.
The people in my neck of the woods.
So I can get in their face if I am mad.
A debate where my spittle can be a threat to their perfectly blended face.

Our system now is so distant and is completely safe from the ranting of a radical like me.  It likes to keeps us separated.
Our science and our cultural beliefs center on the idea of separateness.
Descartes immortalized the body as machine. Our sacred science.
We separate kids into grade levels primarily on age and not on ability.
Our religions all talk about the same stuff but yet some are set on this  - my way or the highway.

We build walls around everything. Build fences so high that no one can see us.
Our belief in God may revolve around the idea that he got mad at us and kicked us out of paradise.

We hated nature so much that we destroyed most of it to build malls, parking lots and housing divisions that lack any sense of creativity or awareness of the local environment.

This new century needs a new people.
A new mythology.

A mythology that reveals the complete oneness of our reality.
It will have to be based on the planet. How the planet is one large organism and we are one of it's offspring. We were blessed a higher consciousness to be these stewards.
To see theses truths.

But when a small planet is littered or blessed with so many different levels of consciousness we will continue fall prey to fear.
Fear of each other being one of the most destructive.
Fear of black people or the fear that we did nothing to stop the brutal murder of millions of blacks in Rhwanda and now Dalfour.

A new mythology that is revealed to people. It knocks them on the skull with such force that they are shaken to the core of their being.

They give up the illusions that Christ had seen through.
Power over self is way more powerful than power over another.
That truth, justice, and love are at the center of a mature culture.
The Hub of all action.

Everything else should be held in a suspicious gaze.
