Bush vs. Kerry Voting Day
So sad I can barely speak this morning.
This country has revealed itself.
It has revealed it's ignorance and narrow mindedness.
How millions of people could support an administration that has done
so much harm is beyond my comprehension.
4 more years of environmental destruction.
4 more years of Middle East failure.
4 more years of terror.
4 more years of education deterioration.
4 more years of corporate control.
4 more years of religious fanaticism.
4 more years of unbridled ignorance and domination.
4 more years of a divided nation without leadership.
Will we survive it?

One very conservative columnist talked about going to vote (because she
actually liked to be there on voting day). I feel the same way. Absentee
voting just doesn't have the same effect as getting up and going (I know
sometimes it is the only way). Then she talked about taking her 75 year
old father to vote even though she knew he would vote for Kerry. It reminded
me of taking Dad and actually punching the ballot for him because he couldn't
see. I always voted exactly as he told me to even though he never would
have known if I hadn't. Besides, he was more qualified than most because
he studied every issue and I respected his opinion even when it differed
from my own.
The other thing I read that I really liked was this--"You have the
right to vote. You do not have the right to see the man of your choice
in the White House...People who vote for the other guy aren't stupid,
brainwashed, or evil. They are your friends and family."
I know these are tough times for everyone who wanted the other man in
the White House. I felt the same way during the Clinton administration.

______________
I am obviously not in a class of being a great communicator to make the
world a better place; -- but nothing is gained by someone who gloats.
I work everyday with a black person that is very sensitive to words; and
believe me -- I do not ever get into biased politics at work. Some of
my black friends (very rare unfortunately) can talk anything with me --
with humor and understanding -- the world and myself should learn from
that.
I got up at 4:30AM just to be the first in line to vote, stayed up all
night watching the elections, and was frankly amazed at the way media
serves up falsehood and the ability of the country to still vote for Bush.
The polls showing Kerry winning by quite a margin in several states were
seriously wrong; and I'm thinking this was just like cbs and Dan Rather
-- just biased media Control. A classic example was the movie 9-11 hitting
theaters as a documentary (Ha!); and the swift boat movie being axed by
theaters. Maybe I missed it; but I don't think I saw Kerry "Pls make
them stop the swift boat ads" ever de-nounce the movie 9-11. and
then, the Democrats sleep with M Moore. The elder Mr. Bush called M Moore
a slimeball; along with J and a lot of other folks -- for a long list
of reasons. I think that people forget that W Bush has parents that are
not just political icons -- but jsut plain old Mom and Dad.
I guess my main point is jsut there were almost 4 million more people
in the US that did not want Kerry as President in spite of biased media;
which frankly amazes me -- I figured media to be much more powerful than
that; and I see the trend to continue to grow like a cancer. No, my main
point (back to voting first on Tuesday) -- is just that people for the
republican side of things were equally as passionate (if not more) than
the Democrats.
Just so much that I wish that I could argue with you guys on -- but I
fail terribly at trying to show the other side. Of course, W Bush would
never make a debate team; -- and here he is in a 2nd term for leading
the world; -- so maybe I should not completely give up.

Bush would have to transform himself into a completely different person
to deserve any love from me.
He would have to stop lying and take some responsibility.
He would have to stop being hypocritical about his concern for the environment
and actually take action for its conservation.
He would have to stop using young american men and women as death machines.
He would move toward a sustainable culture instead of one that consumes
toward destruction.
We are a destructive culture. And our leadership does not try to heal
these tendencies.
Instead it promotes continued destruction in the name of economic superiority.
We may have economic superiority but we are bankrupt when it comes to
morality.
How can a culture who destroys its environment and the environment of
others call itself the greatest country?
A land of God and freedom?
How can a culture that imprisons animals in cages and slaughters them
by the millions call itself compassionate or loving?
How can a culture that uses chemicals to destroy life forms (every single
day in food production) call itself civilized.?
How can a culture so disconnected from the natural world be a beacon
of hope to other nations?
How can a culture that robs its resources from the planet like it was
a huge Wal-Mart be intelligent?
How can a culture that robs the future from its future inhabitants be
caring?
We need leadership not a corporate C.E.O.
We need men and women of evolved understanding and awareness to lead us
into the future - not men who will continue to imitate the destructive
ignorance of our shallow concern for right and wrong.
We need a leader who will bring people together around the world to solve
problems that we collectively are creating..
You will not have that because people continue to ignore the greatest
concerns of our lifetime.
They just want to be consumers and followers of the current way of thinking.
We do not allow our visionaries any air time.
We tear them down and re-process them into the great machine that churns
violently towards the end of times.
When will the people learn that God is not a being that judges but a
force that is everywhere.
When will people learn that God is Hitler and the Holocaust. That God
is Abortion and Rape.
That God is a child learning and God is a Child dying from a land-mine.
God is all things. The DNA - the thought of violence and the act of courage
that stops it from occurring.
People have misunderstood this life. They want to put God in a box and
pull it down when it is convenient.
They want to believe in jesus when they feel good - but call on the old
testament when they want vengeance.
They think they are sinners and that his only son came down to set them
free.
It is they who must set themselves free from such ignorant thinking. Go
back in History to the Goddess cultures and see how the Patriarchal system
of violence transplanted those beliefs into their own. See how the beliefs
we so adamantly support originated.
Use the brain that was given you.
You are jesus, you are God, you are Satan - all wrapped up in a cosmic
suit of opportunity and choice.
What choice will you make?
To continue to follow the leader? The leader that blindly goes where
all men have already been before.
Or do you look deep into your soul and see that we must sacrifice our
previous understandings and beliefs and embrace a bold new way of believing.
That we must live in a sustainable way. That non-renewable resources
are destructive.
That we must respect all life forms. Cows, hogs, Turkeys and chickens
are not products. They do not come pre-packaged.
They must be given respect. How can you ingest such horror and irreverence
without it forming who you become?
That the building of bombs and bullets should be set aside and we should
instead be building places of meditation and learning.
But instead our country will walk the path of darkness and ignorance
until it all come crashing down.
Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.
Even though they have had plenty of fuckin time to figure it out.
