Did Wal-Mart Create the China Import Addiction?
Have you seen the ad on TV put on by wakeupwalmart.com it tells about when Walmart used to be American and sold American goods but now they sell 99 percent China goods? Wal-Mart is one of the main reasons why China has such a big hold on us. Wal-Mart is more American than Chinese Apple Pie.
There is no real difference between any of the big box stores in so far as where we get our stuff. They all come from cheap labor overseas which in turn dismantles more and more of our production base. The real culprit is American consumer habits which is based on cheap and disposable items with short lives.
Buying locally produced products is really the only sustainable, energy responsible way to go. But as long as you can get it cheaper at the Big Box stores people will not make that choice. Our economy is a prison. It keeps us habitually using cheap and foreign made products that have to be transported around the globe 24/7.
People in the future will wonder what kind of idiots we were. Destroying useful crop lands and forests to raise millions of animals for beef consumption. Transporting toothbrushes thousands of miles to just be thrown away in a month.
Waste, Waste, Waste.
That will be our legacy. The people of Waste.

Nice thought, but since Target imports more on a % basis then WalMart, --the wake-up blogs only exists for the leftest readers to absorb their polyanna world.
Kinda interesting that folks pay more for imported goods getting a superior attitude just by paying more!
Of course, Walmart wants to stay in biz, so they try to shop the world for the best deal for the consumer. WalMart management makes every effort to buy American first.
I just bought some metal tent stakes from Walmart = American made.
The only media negative on WalMart comes out of hate Bush, kill America, unions wanting to bankrupt America as they did Detroit, and did I mention political gain? So much good come from unions it is hard to bash them, but when they changed their tactics to lie in volumes about WalMart --I just lost all respect. at this stage of global competition the few unions that flourish are where there is a monopoly.
This is all obvious when you look at where the hate mail is coming from. Even with the left media blog to make the public clueless, I find it amazing that anyone would want WalMart to be replaced by some other big box that does less for people, America, Univ of Arkansas. If you think the WalMart replacement would be union, American made, environmentally conscious more than Walmart, etc. -then you need to get a life!
Good points on humor -all wrong --but the fact is : humor is part of the attitude of surviving the worst and the best. and when we lose our sense of laughing at how ridiculous we really are -it is time for going under water and holding our breath for 2 minutes to learn to relax and appreciate life! ha!
just a guess, I have not checked, but I would say wakeupwalmart is sponsored by unions. wakeupwalmart probably is a classic representation of how the internet is used for hate mail and lies to move America to the left.

We all know Republicans are hypocrites when it comes to buying American. They say they are soooo "patriotic" but yet they will not buy American when it comes down to it.
Watching the news is such a waste of time but I was watching Fox News for a minute tonight and O'Reilly was interviewing Dennis Miller they were saying that the left radio station Air America sits around like psychopaths being negative all the time even showed a "psycho" movie clip. They said the left talk shows are too pessimistic and negative...and that right wing shows joke around more and have a sense of humor. That is so untrue at least about the Neo-Con religious extremist conservatives compared to the liberals.

Anything conservatives know about humor they learned from liberals...really, think about it, the conservative approach to politics was always to beat people over the head...it's the left that humor and music and showed a joyful attitude instead of the forbidding, dour attitude.
As for the Wal-Mart/Target thing, here's the real issue...what Target does isn't going to change anything...but what Wal-Mart does changes everything because they're so big. If they started manufacturing in the U.S., the U.S. would go back to having an economy where things are produced. Wal-mart is targeted (no pun) because their if you can get them to change, everything else has to change.
Okay, I'll bite...what did you need metal tent stakes for?
And congratulations, you may have found the one item in Wal-Mart that's not made in China...check them again next time this year, bet they'll be Chinese...I mean, if our Publix is importing organic black beans from China, what's left?
Wal-Mart could change it all...they're the biggest. Don't understand what you have against American workers that you'd side with Chinese workers against Americans.

Exactly. It should be scary to folks that the leftist media/dems are gaining control of the USA. The biggest example is the mid-east, -most Americans today are conviced we should leave Iraq without giving a flip about the mid-east consequences. #2 is the dems/media love of tax/control very similar to Putin and Chavez wihout giving a flip about the American economy. #3 is the dems/media trying to get goods on the white house on any issue at any sacrifice of national security. -of course natl security is in last place if a dem has a choice of lying to get a dem in the white house.
By the way, W was wrong on this amnesty crap for millions of mexicans -which would only encourage more millions of illegal mexicans.
No politician attacks smoking -- which would single handedly resolve soc sec and healthcare for the next 50 years. and you have liar/leftist like Michael Moore making movies with zero truth in them just so he can continue strutting around as being one of the biggest pigs on the planet. we could save a lot on healthcare if moore would just eat less! ha! and interestingly enough, there are those that strive to copy mr leftist lying pig.
