Capital Punishment: The Death Penalty

When a society kills people for killing people it is the society that becomes sick.
Do you see the connection.
I do not believe in the death penalty. It does not make sense.
If you think killing is wrong than why have we developed systems to do killing.
Why have we invested so much energy into the act of killing.
Weapons manufacturers make lots of money creating these weapons. We spend massive amounts of money on killing every year.

If you had to be the one to give the injection of pull the switch I imagine you would consider an alternative to killing.

What does it do to our collective soul to have the death penalty.

I know you see the justice being served but in reality how is it being served?
Did killing the murderer really bring peace to the families? Did it bring their child or loved one back?

The death penalty is not a deterrent for would be killers.

How many innocent people are killed on death row?

We are not a perfect people and we make many mistakes when it comes to trying to punish our fellow human beings.
Killing someone can not be undone.

I think we sit in our comfortable living rooms and we debate these issues without really trying to understand the bigger picture.
If someone were to take out a group of my loved ones I would want to kill them my selves. But I would hope there would be people there to stop me from bringing more pain into my life.
I do not want emotions to plunge me into killing. How would I be any different than the person who killed in the first place.
We become the killers when we kill. That causes major social issues to become worse.

Lets reform the gun laws and the judicial / penal system but please let us not become what we despise.
