Kinky Friedman for Texas Governor

Just when you thought California was the only political circus with people coming out from under carnival tents to join the race, there is a lot going on in Texas.  When I saw his picture I thought no way I would vote for another crazed redneck (Bush) to run Texas.  When I saw his issues I thought this is one smart cowboy.  He’s not on the ballot but I will sign a petition to get him on the ballot (if they bring me one) to get rid of our Republican Governor.  I think Kinky Friedman makes sense for Texas and he owns a salsa company which is actually pretty good salsa -- I've tried it!

Kinky Friedman’s biggest concerns are with energy, education, and healthcare.  His website claims Texas is the 8th largest economy in the world but we do not spend enough on education in the big state.  “Kinky” wants better healthcare and more money going to teachers.

The Kinky Friedman policy on energy stands out to me because it says that Texas needs to reclaim energy to OPEC and foreign oil.  He wants more investments in wind power, solar power, landfill gas capture systems, and more renewable energies.  Friedman claims that “with biodiesel, everybody wins but OPEC.”
