Alternative Fuels To Save the Planet

I find it amusing people are in favor of heavy taxes for cigarettes but the biggest cigarette of all is our petroleum use.  These fossil fuels are bad for everyone.

Oil should be heavily taxed as all things that are destructive should be.  Let the emerging technologies get some help from the marketplace not the ones who are the dinosaurs and have no need to change unless we force them out.  I will pay more for gas now if it means no OIL based fuels in the near future.

We have to get BEYOND the trap of non-renewable resources and head towards alternative fuels.

When you have to dig, suck and convert sand/rock into liquid it is a destructive business.

We have to evolve to a better alternative.  All people are doing is playing into the same old mentality game.  We went to the moon. We can kick the dependency of these things if we choose.

It's our planet (home) that we are trying to help.  The ecosystems cannot take another Billion people and all their cars and toys.

We will lose our civilizations due to poor adaptation.  All we are doing is supporting the lazy excuse of slow death over a new fight for a smarter and more sustainable future.

How does one become such a stanch supporter of oil, coal and gas anyway?
Especially if your name is not on the side of the trucks or plants that keep us addicted to this oil.  But yet people seem to have more support for these oil companies than all of nature.
