There is a quick answer to who will replace the former host of NBC’s Meet the Press who recently passed away while at work… Tim Russert is the only person who can replace himself according to NBC’s news chiefs. This all said who are they going to use to try to get close to replacing him.
There are several people on the assumed list including Katie Couric, Brian Williams, Andrea Mitchell, and David Gregory. It may take a few anchors to hold down the Meet the Press show at first.
One of the best replacements might just be Keith Olbermann. He seems to do a lot of homework before his show and special commentaries and might learn to be tougher when it comes to interviews with more training.
The prospect of using Tom Brokaw to fill in for Tim Russert might be the best for now. Tom Brokaw knows his politics and knows his country more than just about any journalist. Hey, why not bring out Dan Rather and test him out for the position or would that bring too much controversy?
Tim Russert is a legend at NBC News and it will be a chore trying to find someone to fill his shoes.

What ever happened to the Cable News Network you know the station called CNN that used to actually bring us the news. They were the only news network on cable but of course now we have their sister Fox News which is not any better.
Fox News which is also known as the Bush Talking points network claims it is fair and balanced but its news people have to comment on everything. Recently, CNN has became so bad that there is no Cable News Network to watch but MSNBC. Well whenever MSNBC is not playing prison shows.
CNN, also known as the Anti-Immigration network, a topic they will not shut up about has an anchor for the Prime Headline News named Mike Galanos. Mike Galanos interviews people and answers their questions with bias before they even get to open their mouth.
This is not news and certainly should not be called Prime news or Headline News. Mike Galanos is nothing but an anchor who is judging others and showing bias and barely reading us the news and facts that we turn to CNN to hear. CNN needs to stop with the tabloid heads and read us the news… maybe bring us more news and facts instead of the pork.

You know you have hit the big time when you are all over mainstream media. There is that tipping point of an action or word that gets you to that huge place. I think she has hit the big time now but I am not sure if it was the right way to do it. I am not even sure if her career can go up from here.
I remember listening to Randi Rhodes on Air America when it was on the radio here in Dallas, TX. We got to her voice her hate of the Bush Administration and she made some really good points.. so many good points that I became addicted to listening to her. It even eased the traffic when I would travel to Los Angeles listening to her show. She used to complain how hard it was to get on shows such as Larry King Live but now she has made it big and im sure it was no chore now.
I understand now she is working for a Clear Channel Station just minutes after Rush Limbaugh and living in the same city as Rush and Ann Coulter. Maybe these people deserve each other.. the far right and far left. My opinion of Randi Rhodes is not the same after her mean comment about Hillary Clinton. She needs to zip it. I am glad she is in good company with Rush. Maybe they have have puppies when he takes his Viagra. Maybe Miss. Coulter will join in?
I think she should apologize to Hillary. I do not plan on listening to her new syndicated show on Nova M Radio unless she does apologize.

What has happened to the Countdown with Keith Olbermann who used to have a good, quality show? The MSNBC show has not turned into a big Obama commercial just going on and on about Hillary’s campaign mistakes.
What about Ron Paul? You never hear a glitch of Ron Paul mentioned on Countdown. I am having to turn over to Glen Beck just to get the other side of the story. I think the programming over at MSNBC needs to wake up to the rest of the world out there.
One major thing that Countdown did not mention was the Sally Kern scandal in Oklahoma City. Countdown you would have though could have mentioned her as one of the World’s Worst Persons but there was NO mention of Sally Kerns… you know the lady (not very lady-like) who referred to Gays as Terrorists.
I expect the Faux News folks or the CNN Immigration Channel not to mention Sally Kerns but why has MSNBC not even mentioned it. It makes me wonder what other news we are missing out on because of their anti-Hillary parade. From now on I will just tivo Countdown and fast forward through any mentions of Obama or Hillary. I plan on just watching Countdown for the Odd Ball and the World’s Best Persons then switch the TV off and not rely on any of these non-stop talking heads.

Fox News is the big bully that calls names but now its finally getting a taste of its own medicine. Fox and Friends guest Lee Camp, a comedian, asked the anchor what Fox news was and if it was just a festival of ignorance or a parade of propaganda.
The rising comedian Lee Camp also commented that people should go hug their kids and pay attention to what really matters. Mostly implying to quit wasting time watching the fear mongering channel that Fox news delivers.
My favorite words for Fox news are Faux or Fake news. But if we did not have the rejects like Bill O’Reilley looking for a lynching or Neal Cavuto the chubby bully then who else would we make fun. The viewers will always find some big mouth like Rush Limbaugh to follow.

I was reading article after article on the LiveScience site and noticed several “myth” related stories. It just seemed that every story was geared from a Republican perspective. I am not even so sure than most of these stories have their facts straight.
One article that opened my eyes to this was the story about author Kevin Trudeau who wrote “More Natural Cures Revealed.” They Live Science site claimed in quoting Trudeau’s book that “The sun doesn’t cause cancer. This is often tied to the claim that microwaves and radio towers do cause cancer. “ My problem with this is that they are putting words in his mouth it seems and they may be taking things out of context. This sounds like an energy company defending itself.
The article also calls his book mostly fiction which is fine but why is the site so against natural medicine? Another myth breaker story they had on the site was one about aphrodisiacs which blasted natural herbs as well.
In doing some research on the LiveScience.com site I noticed it was owned by Imaginova. I then did some research on who owned Imaginova and it turns out that I was right. It is owned by a Republican we all see on CNN daily. Roll the drums… Lou Dobbs.
Lou Dobbs is known for spreading propaganda on CNN and public appearances. He is also making money off of it judging from this site and its wide coverage on sites such as FoxNews.com and Yahoo News. This is the same guy who used to be a life time republican but now hes “independent”.
This all just reminded me to check twice of the ownership of what you could be reading online especially if it says the word science, nutrition, or environment. You may find that the agenda may not be in touch with the truth. I am not saying LiveScience is putting a slant on things but I don’t trust Lou Dobbs very much and I do not trust the mainstream Neo-Conservative media.

Watch out Jim Cramer you have a monster after you that the good hearted democrats have been hiding from for years. Fox News who is trying to put more business in their news since they plan to start a cable business news channel is watching everyone on CNBC like a hawk. Fox News Channel has been airing the story on Jim Cramer all day as the top news story and their New York Post article was the only article I found in Yahoo or Google news when I searched earlier today.
Fox News also hates the fact that Jim Cramer is a Moderate and not a flaming retarted Republican. Of course News Corp (which I own stock because of MySpace – full disclosure) is jealous of a top rated show on CNBC like Jim Cramer’s. I would rather loose my money with News Corp going bankrupt than see them take down CNBC, Yahoo, or Google. I think the shows on CNBC are fair minded most of the time with an exception of the way they handled Hillary Clinton after the stock shakedown in February.
Jim Cramer is a great guy and works damn hard for his money. I subscribe to his action alerts plus which is around $400 or so a year and he has definitely made me some money. If he admitted something he shouldn’t have then that was in the past and we can certainly forgive him for that. He claimed it was legal and knowing Cramer he was just trying to get it out there so things can be changed. It may be wrong but what about the lies that Fox News gives us on a daily basis – why don’t we prosecute them for those lies and misleading information.
Click here to view the video discussed, which aired Dec. 22, 2006, on TheStreet.com TV. Also, view Jim Cramer’s response to the accusations.

It all seems like an episode of Mean Girls or Girls Gone Wild on the local level. There are many reports that the cheerleaders in McKinney, Texas have gone wild and mean to other students. One of the cheerleaders is the principals daughter.
You can only guess the news source that reported the Cheerleaders Gone Wild - Fox News - the reporter for mean girl America. Greta Van Susteren interviewed Gretel Kolach who is Newsweek’s special correspondent to find out more on the cheerleaders but there are so many mistakes in the Fox news transcript that its hard to follow. For one, the Fox news transcript keeps mistaking Gretel Kovach with Greta from On the Record.
The attorney for Linda Theret claims that the actions of the cheerleaders are not any different than any other little or big town and that these girls “who are a little out of hand and a little bit too big for their britches”. Linda Theret is the principal of this McKinney highschool and the mother of one of the fab five cheerleaders.
McKinney high school students claim they have been terrorized and bullied by these “fab five” cheerleaders and I hope some action is taken by the school. There are enough bullies in high school and all of them need to be punished or suspended. Take them off the cheerleader team, football team, or whatever the school needs to do to punish bullies and prevent them from turning into an adult Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter.

If you have not had a chance to see the uncut version of the Kramer character from Seinfeld going off on hecklers in his comedy appearance you must see it now. Here it is on Youtube. Michael Richards made it big off the NBC sitcom playing the Kramer character on “Seinfeld,” but may now fall victim of a media sweeps week. Move over O.J. Simpson…
I was amazed by this temper tantrum from Michael Richards. I know African-Americans are known to be loud and dis-respectful sometimes (since I went to an all black highschool) but to go off on anyone in this type of extremity is a little too far. Richards should have just said “you are outta-here” maybe embarrassed them by making fun of them like they do at drag shows I go to but not by saying racial slurs – unless they mean it in a funny way without so much hate involved.
We’re a racist society and I bet if any of us were pushed by a black person hard enough, that would come out. But I think his career was already in a nose dive anyway. The heckler was right, all he had was Seinfeld and that was about it. One trick pony. Go back to college.
This is the age of viral videos on Youtube and sites like TMZ.com. Celebrities, politicians, preachers, and anyone in the public eye cannot hide from cell phone video recordings. If you put your foot in your mouth it will be there for a long time. Even the police need to think before beating up people because cell phone cameras are watching everyone wherever we go!

I received an email stating that the New York Times archives were free for a trial period. I had been looking at it for almost a week now and not even realizing you could go back to 1851 and see selected articles of the Titanic sinking and the Eiffel Tower reaching its height. Thanks for the tip about free New York Times. This looks like a week long promotion for the New York Times to increase online and print customers since it’s just a tease that ends in a day or so. I have to wonder how charging for their content is working out for them. I quit visiting their website because the main thing I was interested in was the editorials and they don’t even let you peek at those anymore without paying $60 or so a year.
You only have a few more days to browse through the archives but its neat they back date all the way until 1851. As you can see below it has been since 1916 since the first woman was elected to Congress and we finally have the first woman speaker of the House. Here are some of the articles from the files of the New York Times:
- March on Washington, Aug. 28, 1963
- Supreme Court Ruling on School Segregation, May 18, 1954
- The Defense of Fort Sumter, April 19, 1861

- Prohibition Begins, Jan. 1, 1920
- First Woman Elected to Congress, Nov. 12, 1916
