Chase Freedom Card Misleads Consumers

Chase Manhattan once inherited the best credit cards from First USA and Bank One. They took in the good credit cards and temporarily made them better. The problem is that now corporate greed has made them confuse the consumers about what rewards they are really getting.

The biggest rip-off I have seen in the credit card industry has now come from my favorite credit card issuer. The new Chase Visa Freedom Card is so misleading to card holders that it deserves attention as a fraud.

What you think may be coming in your wallet may never actually come. If you shop at Whole Foods and you think it’s a grocery store well according to Chase it doesn’t count as one when it comes to rewards. That is just sickening and sad that Chase could be so greedy that it does not count Whole Foods as a grocery store. Does Whole Foods get its own text book category – should we just rewrite any definition of a business we have learned?

Of course, none of the rewards programs allows Wal-Mart to count as a grocery store even though they do have grocery stores. I assume their gas stations do not count as gas either. The computer your looking at may not even be a computer it could have counted as a printer according to these fools.

What about fast food? You would think that KFC, Papa John’s, and Popeye’s Chicken would count as fast food but according to a recent Bankrate.com report it states that Chase does not count these for the 3 percent cash back on the Freedom Card. You mean to tell me that KFC is not fast food? I am now starting to wonder if the Bush Administration cronies are working over at Chase.

So now I think someone needs to get fired or impeached. This one takes the cake because we have learned that Sprint and Verizon do not count as telecoms. Maybe Chase is playing favoritism to AT&T trying to steal them from their longtime partner Citibank for a stab at the highly popular Universal Card.
The backlash has just now begun for Chase. The word will get out and as more people find out the more will switch to the other more “rewarding” programs.

Although, My faith in credit card rewards programs are at an all time low. Chase has let me down, Citibank has nothing left but the most useless “Thank You” points, and Bank of America wants you to play round with counting “Change”.

What’s left? You can weed through all the programs at Capital One and see if any of them make sense (if you have the time). And you can Discover if you like to only get back a fourth of a percentage point.

No, really. There are some good programs with most of these issuers but it takes a lot of looking through the fine print, calling customer service talking to people that have no clue what rewards you may or may not be getting, and checking out sites such as CreditCards.com and RewardsCards.com to try to help. The only bad thing is the credit card companies try to regulate what these card review sites try to say in their copy points so you have to read the reviews and pay less attention to the copy points. They threaten to take them out of their card affiliate program if they do not use their exact bullet or copy points outside of the review.

Our request to the credit card companies: Tell us the truth about what programs get rewards or not. Tell us the before we apply for the card. We understand that card issuers make less on some purchase because of business partnerships with Sam’s Club or some discount chains. Why not tell us before so we can choose if we want your card and goto another better card that offers discounts on our frequent eating at KFC and shopping at Whole Foods. The consumer deserves to know beforehand and the credit card companies should all be ashamed in these types of tricky business practices.

Our Favorite credit card picks include lower gas mileage cards and along with others that help save the environment such as the Brighter Planet Visa or the GE Money Earth Rewards MasterCard.

Liberal Fascism

Glen Beck interviewed Jonah Goldberg who is a contributing editor for National Review and author of ‘Liberal Fascism’ earlier tonight.  Glen Beck was basically promoting Goldberg’s book talking about how liberals call conservatives fascists but yet they are actually fascists themselves.  It’s like name-calling of name-calling.

The best part is that if you sign up for Glen’s email list you get to hear more of Goldberg’s conservative mutterings.  That would really make all of my dreams come true.

The New York Times did a good review of the book if you want to read it or you can go out and buy the book to torture yourself further.  You could also read National Review for free for the extra waterboarding effect.

I just laughed when they compared Hitler’s being a Vegetarian to liberals who are vegan or eat only vegetables.  That statement right there made me loose their credibility.  Sometimes you can tell just in an interview what a dumb-headed label-pin-headed individual these neo-cons really are.

Romney Drops Out

Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney dropped out of the race today after he meet with his team and realized they were climbing an uphill battle.  His speech mad him sound like some guy living in the 1940’s in a place called Pleasantville.  Of course this Pleasantville would only have white families who were straight and Mormon wearing sweaters and preppy hair do’s.

Back to reality and Planet Earth Romney decided he better end this race for the White House.  I think his speech mentioned how sexual the country was getting — I do not think he mentioned VIOLENCE… but sex of course.  He mentioned the gays wanting to get married to show us how straight and conservative he would be if he were in office.

Romney mentioned that he had to step down because if he did not then the terrorists would basically take over our country.  Wasted was millions of dollars he spent on his own for the campaign but he got to have his last words.  Jay Leno even said in an interview with Ron Paul that hes a changed man from what he said years ago to what he says now.

Well God Bless America that Mitt Romney has dropped out!  How about that for some religious words for ya.  Now if we can just get Huckabee and McCain to drop out and let Ron Paul run the show we will really be blessed.

I think Romney was desperate and made himself a jerk in his farewell speech.  He should stay out of politics and go back to Romneyville where live is grand and he does not have to see any gays, women, or minorities.

I Support Hillary Clinton for President

Everything in the news today reflects Obama. Ted Kennedy is now endorsing Obama and so is almost everyone else. That might actually be a good thing for the Clinton’s. The republicans may now have less bashing they can do when they try to use the “L” word or liberal word towards her… they will not be able to use it now.

I have made my decision on who to vote for and it is Hillary Clinton for President in 2008. I have thought long and hard about this and feel that Hillary is the only candidate who can win against McCain or Romney. The McRomney’s are the only Republicans that I think are possible winners of the primary votes to go up against the Democratic nominee.

Hillary Clinton was also my choice because I think her views will become a little more on the left once she gets elected. She needs to stay moderate until then but I have hope Hillary is really what we need to get things changed in this country.

Ron Paul, of course, is my overall choice for the presidency but there is no real hope in that campaign. I would not want to switch parties and risk the chance of not being able to vote for Hillary. I agree with many things that Ron Paul says and think he could be the best man ever for presidency but that just is not possible with him running on the Republican ticket… The Republicans are too dumb to realize that Ron Paul is a true Republican and has better monetary policies than the other ones.

The Media keeps putting a bad spin on the Clinton’s calling them “the Clinton machine”.  They are suggesting that Bill Clinton is a bad thing.  I think they are overdoing the negative spins on Bill and Hillary and thing Hillary will come out of this and become our first woman president of the United States of America.
Cheers to Hillary for President!

Bored with Debates

I cannot remember any day in my life that I have watched so many debates.  Everyday there seems to be a debate on MSNBC, CNN, or Fox News.  The republicans or democrats are arguing back and fourth with each other and its turned more into a sport than a presidential election.

I think the debates are good but it just seems like the countdown for the Superbowl or the NBA playoffs.  I guess we will really see some March Madness when it comes to the candidates this spring things will only get crazier.

I do not understand why Fox news does not like Ron Paul.  I guess he is not religious enough for them or as Neo-Conservative.  Then again I do not understand why MSNBC hates Hillary so much… or all the NBC Networks for that matter.

I just watched the Republican debate tonight and just heard the same ole crap.  Everyone saying how “conservative” they are and how “Ronald Reagan” they are.  I did learn that Ronald Reagan did raise taxes to “save social security” and that is when Romney had to say he would not do that Mr. Reagan accomplished.

You also heard the same old spill from Romney putting in his hate of Gay Marriage and the fact he’s such a hero for going up against same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.  Good for you big boy.  But what about the Islam extremists McCain keeps telling us about.  OMG we better get back to wiretapping and maybe put cameras inside everyone’s home the Islam’s are coming!

I really did not care for the Democratic debate either.  Obama and Hillary fighting and Edwards cashing in on it.  They need to dig deeper and see what they can do for the economy and how they can successfully get us out of Iraq.  And Gee, why not focus on the Republicans and quit falling into their trap of high taxes.  Quit saying you will rollback the tax breaks, Quit fighting and endless bickering.  Show us you are smart and can really make a difference and clean up the mess that the Bush Administration has left behind.

The Daily Show and Colbert Report To Return

This could be the best news I have heard in a few weeks. I have felt so deprived since The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Colbert Report have been off the air. I have been watching too much Fox News or CNN with any spare time and the guilt trip of that is like eating too much vending machine candy (without any nutrients).

I am excited that The Daily Show is coming back on the air. The re-runs are getting old and the politicians have all been getting off the hook easily since Jon Stewart and Colbert have been silenced. I hope the writers strike will come to terms or make some sort of agreement soon so everyone is happy out of the deal. You have to start worrying about more than just the writers but the actual staffs who do the behind the scenes work who will really start struggling to make ends meet.

There should be some sort of compromise. I feel for the writers on one side because I feel that good writers should be paid well and that they should receive pay hikes when the media companies actually get paid on the internet revenue. Right now the media companies are loosing money online so there is no way anyone can get paid on that. It may take a few years to actually make money online as the costs of bandwidth are not cheap. We all know you cannot make money on YouTube videos yet and if you do its just a few pennies per click which does not compare to advertising rates on old media.

Ron Paul on Glen Beck

Ok, I just got through watching the segments on Youtube of the Glen Beck show featuring an hour with Dr. Ron Paul. I saw that some other blogs were stating Glen Beck was running some “Paul is Dead” at the bottom of the screen but I am still not sure what they are talking about because I did not notice it but then again I was more in tune to the interview itself than the “headline news” at the bottom.

Wow, this was a great interview I thought for an hour with Glen Beck. I feel that it was a fair and balanced interview for the most part. I am not even a big fan of Glen Beck because he seems very bipolar and Rush Limbaugh to me so it pains me to watch his show. Just like many of the shows including Nancy Grace on CNN they have gotten ridiculous to even waste time with its either celebrities on Anderson Cooper and Larry King or the rantings of Glen and Lou Dobbs. I prefer Keith Olbermann and most of the news on MSNBC until it comes time for the non-stop prison shows after “Live with Dan Abrams.”

I thought Ron Paul answered the questions superiorly and did an amazing job. Even on the 9-11 conspiracy questions that were thrown at him I thought he did a great job. I just cant say enough how this hour interview was so great you should watch it yourself!

His message was pretty simple - bring our troops home, quit wasting money in other countries, quit wasting tax money in general, and restore our constitution!
Fox & Friends Interview with Ron Paul

Now here is an interview that was NOT fair and balanced. These pinheads over at Faux News must have the biggest egos of all time. Yes, even bigger than Glen Beck and George Bush himself.

They are jealous because Ron Paul raised $6 million dollars in one day breaking records that the other republicans they are backing could not make. They asked Representative Paul to answer questions with ONE WORD ANSWERS in which was hugely unfair. Do they ask Guilini and Huckabee (Hickabee) to do the same?

I agree with Ron Paul that Governor Mike Huckabee’s commercial was sending a message that the other candidates were not “Christians.” Judging from what we have seen from Huckabee we know hes just running on his Baptist background and trying to mix religion and politics. When you strip the poor man of everything else there is nothing left to help our country out.

I can’t get enough of Ron Paul. I wish him luck and hope he beats out the neo-conservatives and restores something respectable within the GOP.

Could LiveScience Be Propaganda?

I was reading article after article on the LiveScience site and noticed several “myth” related stories.  It just seemed that every story was geared from a Republican perspective.  I am not even so sure than most of these stories have their facts straight.

One article that opened my eyes to this was the story about author Kevin Trudeau who wrote “More Natural Cures Revealed.”  They Live Science site claimed in quoting Trudeau’s book that “The sun doesn’t cause cancer.  This is often tied to the claim that microwaves and radio towers do cause cancer. “  My problem with this is that they are putting words in his mouth it seems and they may be taking things out of context.  This sounds like an energy company defending itself.

The article also calls his book mostly fiction which is fine but why is the site so against natural medicine?  Another myth breaker story they had on the site was one about aphrodisiacs which blasted natural herbs as well.
In doing some research on the LiveScience.com site I noticed it was owned by Imaginova.  I then did some research on who owned Imaginova and it turns out that I was right.  It is owned by a Republican we all see on CNN daily.  Roll the drums… Lou Dobbs.

Lou Dobbs is known for spreading propaganda on CNN and public appearances.  He is also making money off of it judging from this site and its wide coverage on sites such as FoxNews.com and Yahoo News.  This is the same guy who used to be a life time republican but now hes “independent”.

This all just reminded me to check twice of the ownership of what you could be reading online especially if it says the word science, nutrition, or environment.  You may find that the agenda may not be in touch with the truth.  I am not saying LiveScience is putting a slant on things but I don’t trust Lou Dobbs very much and I do not trust the mainstream Neo-Conservative media.

Ron Paul Saving The Republican Party?

I think Ron Paul could be the answer the Republican party needs.  He is one person that is not going around in bathrooms, touching kids in weird ways, or being corrupt which is what the last few years of the word Republican has meant.  Republicans, in the last few years, have also been known to be big government and big spenders and big liars.

What makes Ron Paul different is the fact that he is a true Republican instead of one of these Neo-Conservatives who are up there to spread their hate and rhetoric all over the world.  Ron Paul stands for less government, less taxes, and all the things a true Republican should stand for.

This makes sense to me.  More money in the United States instead of blasting money to the Iraqi government and endless war of Neanderthals (we know all they do over there is fight, fight, fight so let them do it without us in the country).

Ron Paul has the backing of today’s youth and could change the youth into future republicans based on the hope that they will all someday have his aspirations.

If the race was between Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul I am not sure who I would vote for.  They are both great guys and could be incredible leaders of the free world.  I will vote for Hillary  if one of them do not make the ballot.

I look forward to a new republican party that is not ran by the “tax free” church groups and the extreme religious right.

Sitting in Coach With the Dinosaurs

walking with the dinosaurs liveI just had to put up that headline since you know everything that has to do with the airlines for some weird reason can be uncomfortable.  The live dinosaur show was amazing though.  I will get to the coach seats later.

Walking with the Dinosaurs was a presentation of “live” dinosaurs with partnership of BBC Worldwide.  They had a timeline of the living creatures with a unique history lesson of their migration to the ending days of their fate.  There are a lot of claims though that are not scientifically proven but overall it was a great show.

The show starts out with one continent and the first living dinos of herbivores and carnivores.  It then goes on to show them fighting and evolving to survive even with natural fires, volcanoes, and vegetation coming and going.

walking-with-dinosaurs-5.jpgThe dinosaurs in “Walking with the Dinosaurs” were so real looking and made the show enjoyable to watch.  This is not only a perfect show to bring the kids but a great show for adults who enjoy history.  This show has a 20 million dollar budget and it shows.  Here are some pics from the arena event starring Tyrannosaurus Rex, Utahraptor, Stegosaurus, and Brachiosaurus.

walking with the dinosaurs

walking with the dinosaursAs for the seating it was in the American Airline center where it seemed where we were sitting in coach seats.  I took a pic of the seats we were in to show you how small these things are.  I think half a person can fit in these things if you are tall or overweight.  I never realized how small the seats are in the American Airlines center until I went there for a show since at Concerts I am standing up the entire time instead of actually sitting down.  Shame on you American for making people squeeze into your small seating and treating us like insects.
