Republicans review of Al Gores 'Inconvenient Truth' movie on Global Warming

An Inconvenient Truth, the Al Gore movie.   a strictly JR revue,  --JR looks at some reasons for putting Al Gore out to pasture.

Movie title should have been:  Family movie by al gore on an ego trip with

bonus footage to make the US look like the root cause of global warming, Bush and all republicans to be evil, and the reason for all of the problems in climate change or storm that happens.

What is with all these 3 min close-up zoom-ins on Gore's face?  I suppose his surgeon helped produce the show. Why would the average person want to see gore's face from 2" away?  Just seems a bit gross to me, but that's just me.

Gore talks so slow -like 4min between words -this guy is more boring than watching a glacier melt.

Gore meanders all over the place with almost no substance of facts, causes, or solutions.

Gore has run his slide show all over the world making America look evil --and in particular the president, past prez's, and all of the associated administrations, corporations, etc.  Gore is a butt as a representative of the US -or even someone with any intelligence.  The US does not need jerks like him enjoying big oil while running down our country with false numbers.  The gore numbers on which countries are polluting the most are absurd  -- and it would have been nice to see a chart showing 10 years from today.  Some of the growing countries like China will grow their pollution output at much higher rates than the US -- gore would have been very clear on this if he had a brain and/or cared about not wanting to mis-represent his own country.

Gore carries on with the New Orleans disaster and Katrina as if it were almost the end of the world "my G, how could this have happened?”  Gore is a self-made-ego-moron:  the damage mainly done by Katrina was not hurricane stuff so much as the simple fact of New Orleans being below sea level and the sea tried to resolve the problem.  Build all the levees you want & the right kind of storm will flood things again. Gore might offer a solution once in a while -such as not building the low places back.  Gore was so carried away with hurricanes of 2005 being the total result of global warming -- and guess what -- zero hurricanes in the gulf in 2006.  Not that it would prove anything one way or the other.

Gore spent 15min of the movie on his sister and her dying due to smoking and getting cancer & his Dad quit farming tobacco.  Gore is supposed to be all decimated by this and what does do?  Nothing, no solutions here.  How about the democrats getting out bed with tobacco?  How about MAKING monthly health care insurance rates 4 times as high for smokers as non-smokers so they can support each other and help fix our health care problems in America?

Poor gore, the movie shows ballot boxes being kicked around and judges that ruled against him -nicely done -to promote his ego I suppose.  One might ask what has any of this to do with Global Warming?  --Other than if a moron like Gore gets elected --and the resulting restrictions put on corporations cause the demise of the US.  The economy of the US is global anymore -there is no free lunch of having everything we need within this country.

Gore talks of perma-frost, very interesting stuff -- but he has no data, no cause/solutions/plan/strategy -- just meandering here and there with inaccurate maps and charts designed to alarm.  If his maps were accurate on Greenland and Antarctica, we would be under water within 5 years.  which brings me back to New Orleans --wondering how the great gore could not have faith in his whole premise of global warming and flooding -- or Gore would be screaming not to build New Orleans back as a below sea level disaster waiting to happen!

the rambling on about ice ages coming and going, a high body of water turning into the Great Lakes -- I might point out this all happened long before coal plants and the model T.

Gore speaks to California as moving toward energy usage smarts, --what crap, are the dems moving legislation to really change the kind of car being driven?  Gore says only the foreign car makers are building economy cars -- this should infuriate domestic car makers/unions.  Geeze, the foreign cars/trucks are not better at gas mileage - they are just generally better!  The crap about foreign cars being more environment friendly than US cars -- foreign cars are smaller/use less gas -- due to dense population/poverty/high gas prices/etc.

The environment is a serious matter that should not be fabricated for Gore's ego movie muddying up the picture of how to make the world better.

Comments from our great Liberal warriors:

At least you're one up on me...you actually saw the movie!  Good for you.

I'll ignore your suggestion that we should be starved out of house and home

because I smoke and the main people in bed with the tobacco industry by the way, are the Republicans...Congressman Henry Waxman, among others, and has about blown a gasket with his anti-smoker campaign.

Wow!

I must say this is an excellent study in how:
If you can't stand someone, no matter what they say will be of use to you.

I myself listened but was not very shocked because I had heard the information from very many different sources over the years.  I never considered it as Gore's information but as him being the presenter.

I even cried at the end of the movie because it inspired me and made me very sad about our culture at the same time.  But I guess I felt that I had to take some responsibility for the impacts of our lifestyle and the choices our culture had made.

But it seems you were unable absorb any wisdom or truth and were only projecting your extreme dislike of Gore right back onto him.  You made it about Gore and the movie was about something so much larger.

I have never liked Bush. Can't hardly stand to listen to him speak so I get how you could choose to dismiss Gore.  But I have actually heard Bush say one or two things I agreed with and I gave him credit for that.

Fortunately the world is not full of your vitriolic opinions. We have many people who really do care to be informed of the impact we have on the larger world and to do something about it.

Is it also a lie that one of the largest factors in mercury levels being so high in nature I due to coal plants?

And why is it that different energy companies can trade their points? If you are a bigger polluter you can trade with a company that has pollution credits.
That means some are dirtier than others.

And are you telling me that these industries are purchasing the cleanest equipment even though I have heard repeatedly that many are not?
I guess all my information is being fabricated by big lie central and all your info is the pure truth of the caring and loving energy companies.

Kind of like the endless love of Enron.

I won't address any of JR's comments about the movie specifically; I still haven't seen it, so I have no opinion. I will say that one of your statements, Jay, struck me as remarkably callous; almost worthy of Anne Coulter. It was when you wrote:

"Gore carries on with the New Orleans disaster and Katrina as if it were almost the end of the world".

That event was, quite literally, the end of a lot of people's worlds. I'm guessing that if you or someone you loved lost everything they'd ever had, you wouldn't write about it as though it was the equivalent of getting a flat tire on the freeway.

As for the rest, I'll just add Al Gore to your list of "The World's Stupidest People".
