Democrats and Government Policies into 2007

The democrats have never expressed better solutions.  History will show if a democrat is elected the Iraq / Mideast situation will only be made much worse.   I do wish neither side used the phrase of winning -- there has never been a war where anyone ever won.

The future of the US depends on electing good leaders;

-the demise of America is dependent on destroying the national security.  The founding fathers of American would never use pansy Andy random shots at national security -they were wise enough to recognize a nation without the intelligence collection to be smart --and the high tech weapons to back it up --had no hope of lasting.

The Democrats or anybody pushing for tax collections of big oil are ignoramuses, and have no brain at all about energy.  If Big oil is not a function of the US then who the heck are you taxing?  Only 2% of the oil reserves are in the US.  Yeah, stupid -let's tax Venezuela -where we get 15% of the US oil.  But if your brainpower is only to believe that a corporation is evil if it is big --then join the ignoramuses’ society, but don't dare complain when a loaf of bread or gallon of gas is $20.

Reponses:

I amazed that you think anyone who ask private corporations to pay their share in taxes is an ignoramus.  These resources are shared by all inhabitants of the lands.  They are resources that are results of processes that took millions of years to complete underground.  These corporations profit by extracting that which is part of a collective resource.  They should be taxed and they should make damn sure that any activities they take to extract these resources are environmentally safe.

It is wrong for the big corporations like Exxon and Conoco-Phillips to make huge profits at the expense of future people and the environment that sustains of livelihood.  I do not bow down to the energy companies. I ask that they be held accountable by the people and for the people.

Republican Response:

Government is not the answer to saving the environment, they don't control foreign countries.  Government tax money has resolved very little on energy --just promoting ethanol/corn to get a few votes.

Government is sly about covering up taxes anymore -licenses in ok: car tags and driver's licenses are now fees -not deductible.  Extra taxes for specific companies: Wal-Mart to get Wally to do what the gov has no clue about -control health costs.  The gov is clearly a liar because a fee that goes to the gov is a tax by definition as well as common sense.

Royalty (not technically a tax, but it is 100% a tax if money goes to the gov).  How much is enough tax/royalty/whatever that ends up in gov control?   40%, 50%, 70% -what do you suggest that you want our politicians to get from big oil or big anything?  High taxes and then revolt created the US and democracy/free enterprise.  Socialism is gov control/high taxes for those that want to support living in Russia, Cuba, and Venezuela.

I’m for line item veto for the president.  Then, we have a king -and could reduce the Senate/congress by half and save a lot of money and political blob.

Responses:

Glad to see you're kidding about the line item veto.  You had me worried for a minute.

Government is the only entity that can protect the little guys (that's us) from the big guys with more money than God.  We get to pick who goes in, which is pretty cool since we don't have any say in who runs the corporations.  The big guys want you to buy into the notion that government is bad then they can pick our bones clean with no interference.

Republican Response:

History says you are in a fiction land.  Present governments around the world exist for the few at the top while their people starve, live in poverty, are trashed by wars and hate. I like the odds of being treated fair from a business of any size than the gov.   A proper balance is a good thing if you have good leaders.

Response:

You're describing the reign of George Bush II.  And I agree.

But when we have good leaders in charge, for example the Roosevelt’s, yes, both of them, the people are protected from the greedy.
